A jazz concert by the Makanda Project 13-piece ensemble. There will be two one-hour sets of music with a 30-minute intermission. The Makanda Project will perform selections from its large repertoire of Makanda Ken McIntyre compositions, with original arrangements and orchestrations, plus some Caribbean and South African pieces that will add further to the joyous spirit of the summer event. The performance will feature the diverse individual voices of the group’s members/soloists, along with the collective sounds produced by a large horn section. The group has developed a strong reputation and following in the Boston area.
