Thought Leadership
We propose recommendations to city and state agencies that address short- and long-term impacts of sea level rise and erosions, including recommendations for the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM)’s ResilientCoasts Initiative and City of Boston’s Coastal Resilience Plans.
Coalition-Building
We collaborate with other local environmental organizations to advance our shared goals through coalition-building. Save the Harbor is a member of several coalitions, including:
Boston Green New Deal Coalition
Boston Waterfront Partners
Nature for Massachusetts Coalition
Research and Reports
We research and lead discussions among key community, city, and state stakeholders on beach nourishment and managed retreat.
Bay State Without Beaches: Stories of the Shoreline
Thanks to a generous grant through Mass Humanities’ Expand Massachusetts Stories Program, over the past year Save the Harbor has been gathering personal stories about how coastal climate change is affecting people and communities across Massachusetts.
