On Wednesdays in July and August (starting 7/9) we will host a weekly summer concert series on Wollaston Beach alternating in the sidewalk bumpout areas across from The Clam Box and Tony’s Clam Shop, and possibly the Tot Lot, similar to the Discover Quincy Series a few years ago. As Quincy is celebrating our quadricentennial, we will co-brand our events with Quincy400 and Friends of Wollaston Beach.

Each week, we will partner with non-profit community organizations that will have information available at a table to promote their organization and then be the “half-time commercial” when the band takes their break. We will thematically tie in environmental education and the value of Wollaston Beach as a community asset.

As Quincy is a culturally diverse community, we are working to integrate cultural programming into the event schedule. We may offer additional children’s entertainment such as storytelling, puppet show, etc. We are interested in partnering with STH/STB vendors and relationships such as the New England Aquarium Touch Tank. Discover Quincy previously had the teen band at the Germantown Neighborhood Center/YMCA and other area dance and music schools perform. We are still in the process of confirming our non-profit partners but are connecting with Friends of the Blue Hills, Friends of the Kennedy Center, Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library, Garden Clubs, Lions Club, Neighborhood Associations, Neponset River Watershed Assn, Porchfest Quincy, Quincy Art Association, Quincy Asian Resources, Quincy Choral Society, Quincy Climate Action Network, Quincy Environmental Treasures Tours, Quincy Historical Society, Quincy Symphony Orchestra, Quincycles, Rotary Club, Yacht Clubs and local businesses, especially those located on Quincy Shore Drive.
