Every year during our summer camp programming, we strive to visit Revere Beach multiple times, as this provides our youth with valuable and unique outside time compared to our typical trips to a local park. Additionally, we host one meet-up with Senior Wellness per summer. Senior Wellness is a group led by the Revere Healthcare Center for older adults in need of socialization and health education. This intergenerational solidarity between Youth Zone and Senior Wellness is crucial, as they are able to learn from each other’s experiences, enhance social skills, and develop empathy for differing generations.

Our youth will be able to engage in activities we are not able to do at our homebase location deeper in the city such as swimming, observing sea animals, and playing beach volleyball. Combined with the Senior Wellness meetup, our Youth Zone members are sure to have an enriching day full of beach appreciation and cross-generational collaboration

We will order food from the community and have the seniors and youth sit, chat, and enjoy their meals together. The day will culminate with various beach activities for everyone to participate in, such as beach volleyball, swimming, and playing card games on the pavilion.
