Bike to the Sea Day is our signature annual community bicycle event along the Northern Strand Trail, serving residents of Malden, Revere, Saugus, and Lynn. The event features a fully supported, all-ages-and-abilities ride, with trained ride marshals and a police escort to ensure participant safety along a 10-mile route from Malden to Nahant Beach. The ride will highlight and celebrate the recently completed segments of the Northern Strand Trail Extension, increasing public awareness of this critical active transportation corridor.

At Nahant Beach, three sponsoring bicycle shops—North Shore Cycle (Lynn), The Ride Cafe (Melrose), and Quad Cycles (Arlington)—will be invited to offer demonstration bicycles, allowing participants to experience a variety of bike types along the accessible beachfront path toward Red Rock Park. In addition, MassDOT will be invited to share information and educational materials related to the Lynn extension of the Northern Strand Trail, supporting community engagement and transparency around public infrastructure investments.
