Wellness for Us (an offshoot of Yoga For Us series) at Carson Beach will be a seasonal gathering that invites Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to spend intentional time at the water in community, with space to play, rest, daydream, and simply be.
Gatherings will be approximately two to two and a half hours. There will be opportunities to read, journal with guided prompts, connect through low-pressure games, and receive a sound meditation near the water. The intention is to support nervous system settling while also making space for joy, curiosity, and inner child reconnection.
This is will be a closing celebration that feels like a soft beach party. There will be music and playful, inner child-centered activities alongside opportunities to rest, restore, and receive sound. Hosting this series at Carson Beach also holds deep cultural meaning. Being at the water can be cleansing and restorative, and it is an opportunity to affirm and rebuild our diasporic relationship with water, especially in a space that has a history of not welcoming people of color. This series is an intentional act of presence, community care, and reclamation.
Organized by our Better Beaches partner Marlene Boyette.
