The Bike to the Moon Ride is an annual, family-oriented community cycling event presented in partnership with Malden’s Chinese Culture Connection (CCC), an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Chinese culture and traditions. The event celebrates the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and takes place along the Northern Strand Trail between Malden and Red Rock Park in Lynn, with escorted on-road segments supported by the Lynn Police Department and Massachusetts State Police to ensure participant safety.
The ride includes a community gathering at Marsh View Park in Lynn, where participants will be offered refreshments, including traditional mooncakes, and will take part in a hands-on kite-building activity. Families will then continue to Red Rock Park to fly the kites they created, reinforcing intergenerational participation and outdoor recreation. The event is promoted and staffed bilingually by Bike to the Sea and CCC and has a demonstrated track record of attracting participants from the Greater Boston Chinese community, as well as broader audiences seeking to engage in a culturally significant celebration. Through this partnership, the Bike to the Moon Ride advances equitable access to safe active transportation, culturally responsive programming, and inclusive use of the Northern Strand Trail.
Organized by our Better Beaches partners at Bike to the Sea.
